The Spave nonprofit network is made up of more than 1.5 million accredited charities. That’s over 1.5 million missions, visions, and ambitions for making the world better for all. To help put that number into perspective, here’s a look at one of our nonprofit partners, Isaiah 117 House.
What They Do
Isaiah 117 House provides physical and emotional support in safe and loving homes for children awaiting foster care placement. With homes across 10 states, Isaiah 117 House offers warmth and love in a difficult time of transition for children in need of safety and stability. Volunteers at Isaiah 117 Houses provide clean clothes, fun toys, snuggly blankets and kind smiles while welfare workers do essential paperwork and find fitting placement.
Why They Do It
When founder Ronda Paulson and her husband Corey began training to become foster parents, they learned that foster children awaiting placement must wait in the sterile and cold office of the Department of Children’s Services. A year following training, they arrived at that office to meet their foster son, who needed a warm bath and new clothes. It was then that Ronda realized that new foster children needed more than what the system was capable of offering—and that’s where Isaiah 117 comes in.
How They're Growing
The first Isaiah 117 House came to being in 2017. In six fast years, they’ve expanded across 10 states and work to open in more communities. With your Spavings, they’re able to bring necessities like toiletries and clothing and comforts like toys and events to more children experiencing life-changing moves.
